7 Points of View on Snape's Worst Memory (Chapter 7)

Ok, this one is a little different. This one is the last chapter, but it's Harry. This is what Harry writes after having viewed the memory in Professor Snape's pensieve. If it seems like Harry's time line for what happened is a bit messed up compaired to the others, it's supposed to be. After seeing all of that, I'd imagine he'd have a hard time remembering when each thing happened, so he's supposed to have it slightly out of order.

Wow, of all of the crazy days I’ve ever had, this one definitely makes the top 10 list. I went in for my Occlumency lessons this evening, but Snape had to cancel. Malfoy came in to tell Snape that Montague had been found, in a toilet! I should shove Malfoy into that closet if he’d end up in a toilet! Snape told Malfoy that I was there for remedial potions lessons. Oh please, I ‘m getting fairly high marks in Potions. They’d be better if Snape didn’t have me, but what can you do? I was getting ready to leave the room, but something caught my eye. It was Professor Snape’s pensieve. I entered one of the memories, even though I knew I shouldn’t do it. I saw Professor Flitwick, and he was watching his class take their O.W.L’s. I saw Professor Snape taking his exam, but I got distracted fairly quickly. I saw my dad, Sirius, and Remus there too. It was brilliant to see them at that age, at my age. Pettigrew was there too, but I was mostly watching my dad. I guess I really do look a lot like him. After the exams, they all went outside, and my dad started practicing catching a snitch. Sirius made him stop though, Pettigrew was getting too excited, and Sirius was afraid he’d wet himself! After a bit, Padfoot got bored, and Snape happened by around then. I hate to say it, but Professor Snape was right about my dad and Sirius. As soon as he walked near them, they started harassing him, and when he drew his wand, they hexed him. They set out to humiliate him for no reason. My mother showed up after a but to try to convince dad and Sirius to leave Snape alone, but dad said he’d only do it if she’d go out with him. She said she wouldn’t go out with him if it was a choice between him and the giant squid, and dad went right back to Snape, who managed to get free for a moment, and hexed dad. His face was cut up pretty bad. Then Professor Snape told mum that he didn’t need her help, and called her a mudblood. Dad tried to make him apologize to her, but mum said that she didn’t want his help. She told Snape that he was on his own from then on. Dad and Sirius hung Snape upside down, and threatened to remove his pants in front of everyone. Whether or not that actually happened, I don’t know, because that’s when I got pulled out of the pensieve. Snape was so upset, he said that my lessons were over. I never thought I would feel bad for Professor Snape, but I do. I can’t believe that they’d do that to someone, and they actually seemed to think that it was funny, or enjoyable. I really don’t know what to think about my dad and Sirius now. I mean, Remus was there, but he didn’t do anything, and he clearly wasn’t happy about it. His only crime was that he did nothing to stop it. He probably just had a hard time telling them no. Pettigrew didn’t do anything either, but he was enjoying the show. My stomach is in knots just thinking about all of this. I think I may be sick. I’m considering going down to the hospital wing and asking for a sleeping potion, just so that I don’t have to suffer through the nightmares that I know I’ll have from this experience. And to think, I thought things were complicated yesterday.

Dear Diary,

Today was absolutely horrid. First, I woke up late, and barely got any breakfast. Then I had my Charms exam. I think I did well, but it was still difficult. But the worse part of it was just after the exam. I walked out of the castle with a few of my friends, and started toward the lake to get some fresh air. It was quite enjoyable, until I heard Potter and Black harassing Severus Snape, again. This time they were being exceptionally cruel, so I decided to do something about it. They had knocked him down, and knocked his wand away from him. I decided to ask Potter what Snape had done, and he had the nerve to say that it was more that he existed. I wish I had thought to mention that I only date real men, and that real men don’t think that 2-3 fights are acceptable. What a git! Potter said that he’d leave Snape alone if I went out with him, as if I would suffer through a date with Potter for anyone. They eventually used a spell to hang Snape upside down. I got Potter to drop him, but I forgot to specify ‘gently’. After that, Black used Petrificus Totalus on him, and I had to force Potter to reverse that too. Potter said something to Snape about him being lucky that I was there, and he called me a mudblood. Now that I think about it, I can’t blame him after all of the embarrassment they had just put him through, the last thing he needed was for a girl to ‘rescue’ him. But I was upset, so I told him that I wouldn’t help him in the future. I actually sank to Potter’s level, and called him ‘Snivellus’. I’m so ashamed. I even made fun of him. Then Potter told him to apologize to me, and I told him where to go and how to get there. After that, I couldn’t take anymore, so I went back to the castle. Today was one of the worst days I’ve ever had. I think I’m going to try and catch Snape alone, and apologize to him. I should have realized that he was angry, and embarrassed, and me saving him didn’t help. Well, I have my Transfiguration exam tomorrow, so I’m going to bed now. Goodnight!

Stupid Potter and Black. I absolutely despise them. As if all of their other ego trips weren’t horrid enough, today they decided to claim their rightful places in the jerk-off hall of fame. Today was our Charms exam, which I suppose went well enough. After the exam ended, I decided to head outside, as did many of the other students. The weather was pleasant enough, and I chose to sit near some bushes, and look over the exam questions. I’m almost positive that I got the fourteenth question wrong. After a bit of review, I put the exam page away, and began walking around. I should have known that Potter and Black wouldn’t just let me pass. They stopped me, and as I drew my wand, Potter disarmed me. After that, Black used ‘Impedimenta’ so that I could not move. Next, Potter chose to choke me using a ‘Scourgify’ spell. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Lily Evans decided to try and save me. The last thing I needed was to be rescued by a girl. On the plus side, Evans did say some nasty things to Potter. Plus, with those imbeciles occupied by her presence, I managed to get my wand, and slice up Potter’s face. A vast improvement in my opinion. Unfortunately, Potter reacted quickly, and had me hanging in midair after only a few seconds. Evans convinced him to let me down. Why she stuck up for me, I’ll never understand. But I managed to screw that up, thanks to Potter. He said that I should thank her for saving me, and I called her a mudblood for it. She said that she wouldn’t help me the next time, and then she left. In no time, Potter and Black had me hanging upside down again. This time, threatening to remove my pants, when Lupin finally decided to make them stop. They dropped me, and I gathered up my things and ran. I hate running from those dolts. I will never forgive them, or myself for what happened today. While they created the chaos, I made two fatal errors. 1) I walked near them. (I wasn’t looking) 2) I called Lily Evans a mudblood. She was only trying to help, but I was horrified already. Now, I must get ready for my other exams, and plot my revenge. I should apologize to Evans, but I probably won’t. It’s not the Slytherin thing to do, and she wouldn’t believe me anyway.

I hope I did alright on that Charms test today. I felt pretty stupid not knowing the five signs of a werewolf, but it’s not like I spend my time looking at Remus, I’m there to push the knot on the tree, not to keep an eye on him. What good could a bloody rat do to stop a werewolf? Not much, I guarantee that. Nothing really interesting happened today. James practiced with that snitch he took. He’s really good at catching it. After a while, James and Sirius decided to torture Severus Snape for a bit. They waited until he walked past us, and shouted after him. Padfoot and Prongs had fun with him for a while, calling him names and gagging him with soap. That is, until Lily Evans decided to interrupt them. I really don’t know what James sees in her. Can you imagine Prongs dating a prefect? Insanity, if you ask me. Anyway, Lily made them leave Snape alone, at least until he called her a mudblood. After that, she wasn’t nearly as concerned for him. James tried to ask her out again, but she still said no. I’ll never understand that girl. One of the most popular guys in school wants to go out with her, and she actually keeps refusing? Oh well, James always has enjoyed a challenge. Well, Lily finally left after Snape insulted her. Padfoot and Prongs were about to take off Snape’s pants, but Moony made them stop. He said it was too cruel. Yeah, to the poor people who had to witness it! After Moony killed the party, and Snape got away, we came up to the common room. Luckily, Lily Evans wasn’t in that room, so I didn’t have to listen to James grovel. People think I’m weak because I don’t fight most of the time, but they should watch what that girl does to Prongs. It’s sad really, watching him try so hard to get her. We can only hope that Prongs is enjoying the chase. Right now, Moony is still in the common room, reading of course. Padfoot is on a date, and Prongs, I don’t know where he is. I’m getting ready to get back to work on my Potions essay, since it’s due in a few days. Stupid essay. Better get to work before Remus comes up here and yells at me.

Wow, I really don’t know where to start. Today was fairly normal, which means it was crazy. I woke up early to get in a bit of extra studying before my Charms exam. Although I didn’t get much studying done because Peter was snoring, and Sirius was talking in his sleep, again. At least James was being fairly quiet. Well, I’m sure I did well on the exam, since I have spent so much time preparing. As for the guys, I’m not so sure. After class ended, the four of us headed down to the lake, and sat under our usual tree. That was fun until Severus Snape tried to pass by. James and Sirius were bored, so they started harassing him. I should have stopped them, but they’re my best friends. How can I spoil the fun of the people who are my friends even though they know my darkest secret? Although I still don’t know why they think it’s fun to hurt someone, even if he is a Slytherin. Well, I buried my nose into my Transfiguration book, and pretended not to notice. Luckily, Lily Evans, who has always been willing to ruin their fun, showed up and started yelling at James. She always has been able to get him to listen to her. I wonder if she’ll ever agree to go out with him? If she does, I’m sure it will be purely to shut him up. Severus made the mistake of saying that he didn’t need a “mudbloods” help. Lily decided not to help him anymore after that. Of course, James and Sirius went right back to torturing Snape. I was going to just ignore them, as usual, but I heard James yell “who wants to see me take Snivelly’s pants off?”. I couldn’t keep out of it after that. I may not be Severus Snape’s biggest fan, but even he doesn’t deserve that. Now, Lucius Malfoy, that’s a different story. Besides, I am a prefect, I couldn’t let them go that far. Needless to say (or write), they weren’t happy with me, they still aren’t as far as I can tell. None of them have said much to me since then. Oh well, I know I was right to stop them. They’ll get over it, I hope. I think I’ll head up to the dorm and make sure that Wormtail has at least started his Potions essay.

Today was perfect as usual. I have a date with a gorgeous Hufflepuff in an hour, so tonight will be great too! I had my Charms test today, but I’m sure I’ll get an ‘Outstanding’ on it. One of the questions was to list five signs that identify a werewolf. How perfect was that? The sad thing is, Peter couldn’t think of them all. He can be pretty thick sometimes, but you can’t help but love the kid. After class, we all went outside. James started messing with a Golden Snitch, which was alright for a while, but I had to tell him to stop. Wormtail was going crazy and I was worried that he was going to faint or have an accident. A bit later, James found something to keep me occupied. He saw that slimy prat, Severus Snape, walking past us. We called for his attention, and he actually thought that he could hex us before we got to him. We proved him wrong, and decided to have fun with him for a while. It was quite enjoyable until Evans showed up. Sweet girl, and quite easy on the eyes, but she’s far too worried about useless things, like Snivellus. Evans spent a large portion of our time sucking up to and flirting with Prongs. I mean, sure, she was mostly yelling at him, and insulting him, but that’s like foreplay between those two! After a bit of watching them flirt, Snape managed to get his wand back, and cut up Prongs’ face, so we hung him up by his ankles. Evans made us drop him, and that prat had the nerve to call her a mudblood for her trouble. James tried to make him apologize to his love, but she just said something like “you’re just as bad”. Crazy woman if you ask me. Prongs was pretty upset, especially when Moony made us let Snivellus go. Told us that taking off his pants was cruel. He can be such a stick in the mud some days. Oh well, we will get Snape for what he said to Lily. James will be sure of that! Well, I have killed 20 minutes writing this, and as I already wrote, I have a date tonight. I haven’t even showered yet, and I really should, I went out flying earlier, and it’s not pretty. I still look great of course, but I’m not entirely sure I’d want to sit next to me right now, and I definitely want to be able to get close to someone tonight!

This story (all 7 chapters of it) is written as journal entries from each character. Also, it was written with only 5th book knowledge, so it's a fair bit different from what I'd write if I were just starting the story now.

Ah, another day, another exam. I’m pretty sure I got perfect marks. I still can’t believe Wormtail actually missed that question. ‘Give five signs that identify a werewolf’. How can you be friends with one, run with one every month, and still miss the bloody signs? Well, after the exam, we headed down to the late, and sat under the beech tree, as usual. I practiced catching a snitch I nicked from the storage closet, until Padfoot told me to stop. He was afraid that Peter was going to explode. After a bit, we got bored, and were thinking of going up to the common room, (at least I was thinking that) until Snivellus passed by. He wasn’t even looking where he was going, that greasy little git. Sirius and I stopped him, we were just going to have a bit of fun, but he tried to draw his wand. Well, we had to defend ourselves *grin*. I disarmed him, and Padfoot knocked him on his arse. Padfoot got in a few nice jabs, and then I had to wash out his mouth. Such language, and with women present. Everything was going great, until Lily decided to defend that prat. Apparently, she actually believes that he deserved better. I tried to take the opportunity to make a deal, but to no avail. Evans is still in denial about us. Snivellus managed to get to his wand while I was distracted, and he cut up my face, so I hung him upside down. Lily made me let him down though. Sirius stopped the grease ball from getting away, but that just made Evans more upset. I told him that he was lucky that she had been there, and he had the nerve to call her a mudblood. She said that she wouldn’t help him the next time, and I tried to get an apology for her, but Lily didn’t want me to. She said that I’m just as bad as he is, and called me arrogant. (Not her exact words, but the general idea.) She ran off after that, even though I tried to make her stay. After that, I tried to turn my attention back to Snivelly, by threatening to pants him, but Moony cut us off. He said that was too far. While he lectured, Snivellus got away. But there’s always tomorrow! At least it’s another easy exam coming up….Transfiguration. I’d die if I failed that! Oh well, shower time.

One Shot Harry/Draco non slash HP fanfic

Letters from Harry and Draco (6th year)

This was written as a 6th year story, but was written before the 6th book came out, so it's a bit off from what actually happens in the last two books.

"I can't believe I have to write to that prat for 3 weeks” Harry said to Ron and Hermione, as they all entered to common room. "Yeah, McGonagall has lost her mind if she thinks that's a good idea." Ron said, taking a seat by the window. Hermione, usually the one to defend 'the value of a good assignment', as she put it, was silent as she took a seat on a small mound of pillows. "Come on, Hermione, aren't you going to tell me that this could be a great opportunity to learn something?" Harry questioned. "Or tell him that McGonagall is just trying to create friendships between the houses?" Ron added.

"Actually, I think the assignment itself is brilliant." As she paused, both Harry and Ron sighed. "But if she thinks that you and Malfoy writing to one another is a good idea, she's mental." The boys smiled, knowing that it was a rare moment to convince Hermione to say anything negative about a professor. Unless that professor was Snape, Umbridge, or Trelawney, that is.

"Well, I hate to say it, but it's going to take me a while to come up with anything to say to Malfoy that won't get me detention, so I'm going to go start on that now." Hermione smiled, as Ron tried very hard to suppress a laugh and the pained look on Harry's face. "Alright," Harry said, with a quill in his hand, and a new roll of parchment in front of him. "Here goes nothing."

Malfoy,

I haven't got a clue what I'm supposed to say to you, or why I ended up with you as my partner for this. I suppose I'll start with a basic question. What are you doing right now? Besides reading this, of course. Come to think of it, I guess I do have something to ask you. I've been wondering lately, and don't ask why, because I'm not sure why I've wondered about it, but I've wondered if you are dating Pansy Parkinson, or if you two are just friends. It seems like she's quite a bit fonder of you than you are of her, and everyone knows that you two used to be together, so I'm curious as to what's going on there. I know, it's probably a bit personal, so no big shock if you don't answer, just thought I'd ask anyway, since we have to be able to show McGonagall that we're actually writing to one another.

Well, since I don’t have a bloody choice in this assignment, I’m answering your letter. You wrote more than I had expected. But you were probably just hiding from Granger. I would hide too if I were you. What am I doing right now? Hmm…I’m sitting in my common room, watching Crabbe and Goyle fight over a cupcake. Sad, isn’t it? As for me and Parkinson, we dated in fourth year, but not anymore. She still fancies me though. Now it’s my turn. Are you dating Granger? Bloody hell, Goyle just broke something, and I’m pretty sure it was mine, so I’ve got to go.

Let me ask you something. How does it feel to be “Famous Harry Potter”? I mean, do you love all of the attention, or what? I for one sometimes hate it, being so well known around here. Obviously, it has its perks, but it can be ridiculous sometimes.

Wow, that’s kind of personal. You know, even my friends have never actually asked me that. Most of the time, I hate it. Like in second year, when Lockhart pulled me up for that picture in the bookshop. I just wanted to fade into the background, but I’m ‘famous’ so I can’t do that. I’m supposed to be some sort of a bloody hero, and I’m not even sure that I know how to be a sixteen year old, let alone a hero. I just wish that I could be normal, whatever that is. I hate getting so much attention for something that I don’t even remember. People either love or hate me, and for what? Because my mother died to save me, and it worked? I didn’t do anything, and everyone thinks that I’m going to save the world. It’s insane, and I can’t get most people to see that. My question is, how do you deal with it? Living up to your father’s expectations, I mean. I’ve seen how he expects you to be perfect all of the time. Perfect grades, proper behavior, and never contradicting him. I’d go crazy if I were you, although I’m half crazy being me, so I guess it wouldn’t be much of a change. I know you probably won’t answer that, but I had to ask anyway.

Your friends must be dumber than I thought, if they’ve never asked you how it all feels for you. As for the Lockhart thing, I thought for sure that you’d love that. Good to know that we both agree that you didn’t do anything to deserve your fame, especially not back then. At least now, you’ve done something, albeit, by shear luck, not the talent that people think is saving you. (Believe it or not, I’m not trying to sound so insulting, it’s just the truth.) As for your question, I’m surprised that you noticed how controlling he is. I’ve gotten used to it over the years, but it’s actually been getting worse lately. Now that he’s falling out of…never mind. Let’s just say that as his mood gets worse, so do his expectations. I agree with you on that last point, you are half crazy, but aren’t we all? Ok, I’ve got an odd, random question for you. If you could trade your life for someone else’s, who’s life would you want, and why? Personally, I’d love to trade lives with someone; I’m just not sure who. Maybe a famous musician or Quidditch player. Someone who get’s a lot of attention, but it’s by choice, not name alone. It’s getting late; I’d better call it a night.

My friends aren’t dumb; they just don’t like to pry. And as rude as your explanation sounded, I can’t get too upset since you were right. Even now, it’s all luck that’s saved me. As far as noticing that your father is controlling, just because I wear glasses, doesn’t mean I’m entirely blind. I’ve only ever met one person who could put him to shame in that department, and that was our old Quidditch Captain, Oliver Wood. We used to call him a “Quidditch Nazi” behind his back. Sorry to hear that your fathers temper has been worse since he’s fallen out of favor. Thought I didn’t know, huh? It’s kind of obvious, just from what I’ve seen. Now, to answer your random question. If I could be someone else, I’d be Ron. Sounds a bit cheesy and cliché, but I’d love his life. Brothers watching over him, teaching him everything they know, a sister to get all protective about. Parents who care, and more importantly, who are always there for all of their kids. No matter what mistakes they make, Mr. & Mrs. Weasley are always there. I thought Mrs. Weasley would’ve killed the twins for leaving school, in their last year no less. She was angry, but after she saw their shop, and they had proven that they weren’t throwing their lives away, she supported them. I’d do just about anything for that. Like I said, I know how lame that sounds, but it’s what I’ve always wanted. Oh well, too bad we don’t get to choose our lives, huh? Ok, my random question for you. If you could change one thing about yourself or your life, what would it be? Talk to you later.

I can’t believe we’ve had so much to say to each other for the past few weeks. It’s quite a shock, considering our history. Good thing we don’t have to turn in our letters, just show McGonagall that we’ve actually been writing them. I couldn’t handle everyone knowing that you and I actually understand each other so well. I guess the whole thing with my father is fairly obvious, now that I think about it. I have to say, it’s a bit predictable that you’d choose to be Weasley if you could. Wouldn’t it bother you to be that poor? Besides, father has told me loads about Mr. Weasley. He’s practically insane, and I don’t mean the way you and I are. I mean that the man is in serious need of help. Father said that he once heard him asking someone how muggles can fly! Of course muggles can’t fly, how did this man come to have a job with the ministry? Oh well, I suppose that’s a topic for another lifetime. Now for your question, what would I change about myself or my life? I’ve got two things that I can think of right away. One, like you said, I’d love to have a brother or two. I guess that might get annoying, having to share everything, but it’d be nice to have a few siblings to talk to, and hang out with over the summer. The other thing I’d change is, I...this is going to sound even more pathetic that you wanting to be Ron Weasley. But, I’ve always wished that I could be closer to my father. I’ll be honest; I don’t really want to discuss that one. Hmm…I’m running out of ideas for questions to ask. Ok, here’s one…If you could do any job after school, what would you do? Even if it’s a muggle job, although if it is, I might need you to explain it a bit. Well, talk to you next time.

Hey Draco,

I couldn’t agree with you more about being glad that we don’t have to turn these in. It’s quite strange to think that you and I can actually get along so well. I mean, we fight all the time, and now we’re chatting like old friends. Telling each other our secrets, and writing long letters, probably a lot longer than we’d have to in order to keep McGonagall happy. Anyway, you said that Ron’s dad was insane because he asked how muggles can fly. They actually can, you know. They have these large machines, large enough to fit a hundred people inside of them. The machines, called airplanes, can fly. Muggles use them to travel the world. You know, I liked your answers about what you’d change. I think you’d get used to having to share everything if it meant having someone that you could share the good stuff with. Maybe that sounds cheesy, but there are just some moments that you want to share with family, not friends. As for the wish about your father, I can understand that. It must be tough to have someone expect so much of you, and yet keep you at such a distance, especially your own father. But you said that you didn’t want to discuss that one, so I’ll leave it at that. To answer your question, I want to be an auror. It’s what my father used to be, and I’d love to have something else in common with him. Wow, I had no idea that muggles had a way to fly. I’ve got to stop listening to everything that father tells me. Thanks for not pressing the issue about me wishing that my father and I were closer. I wasn’t sure you’d let me off the hook so easily for that one. Sounds like a fitting job for you, with what’s expected of you. You’re right, sharing your career with your dad may not be the best way to choose what you’re going to do with your life, but I get it. My father has been the reason that I’ve done a lot of things, and I don’t mean by force. I just want him to be proud of me, and I’ve done quite a few things for that reason. Hmm…I guess that this is my last letter to you. It has been kind of nice to be so honest and open in talking to someone. I’ve always been told to say as little as possible, so that I don’t give anything away. It’s been an interesting change for me to open up like this. Now, for your question, and you have to swear that you’ll never let anyone find out about this. Seriously, I’d die if anyone knew this. There’s a girl that I fancy quite a bit. I don’t know her well enough to love her, but I like her a lot. The thing is, the girl that I’m talking about is Ginny Weasley. Pretty shocking, right? I don’t know exactly what it is about her; she infuriates me, and yet, I kind of like it. I’ve never really met a girl that can leave me speechless like she does. It’s annoying, and yet intriguing at the same time. So, in love with Granger, are you? I have to admit, I didn’t entirely see that one coming. I say, wait until you graduate from here. If you still love her, then tell her. That way, if she feels the same way, you’ll have loads of time with her, and if she doesn’t, you can take some time away from each other. Draco sealed up his last letter to Harry Potter, and handed it over to his owl. He sat down on the edge of his four-post bed and thought about the past few weeks. It was odd to think that he and Harry could have anything in common, let alone agreeing as much as they had in their letters. He smiled slightly as he headed down to his common room to join his friends. As he sat down on the black leather sofa, his last letter reached Harry. He happily read what would be his last letter from Draco for quite a while, nearly dropping the parchment when he read Ginny’s name. “Ginny? Didn’t see that one coming!” He whispered to himself, knowing that he had the dorm to himself. A moment later, Ron came into the room, forcing Harry to fold up the parchment, and shove it under his pillow. “What’cha doin’ Harry?” Ron asked, falling lifelessly onto his own bed. “Oh, nothing much. Just wondering if Malfoy is even going to bother to write another letter, or if I’m finally done having to talk to him.” Ron laughed a bit, as he pulled himself toward the top of his bed, and dragged the covers out from under him. “I wouldn’t worry about it, I’m sure he’s as happy as you are that tomorrow is Friday.” Harry nodded in agreement, but said nothing to his best friend, knowing just how wrong Ron really was. “Hey Harry, I wanted to ask you something. Have you noticed what’s been going on with Ginny? She’s been acting odd lately. It’s scary actually, I think she’s been staring at Malfoy. You don’t think she’s actually dumb enough to like him, do you?” Harry suppressed a smile as he answered Ron’s fearful question. “I wouldn’t worry about it Ron. Maybe she just likes arguing with him, you know, fighting with him until he’s left speechless.” Ron nodded, now having an excuse to stop thinking about it, as Harry turned away from Ron, and made a mental note to write to Draco in the morning.

Nothing really new here, I'm just bored. It's after midnight, and I just finished watching (and trying to record) a George Carlin special. We got a new DVD recorder for christmas, and still haven't figured out how to use it. Insanity Never Takes A Holiday.

Ok, I want everyone to know, I love Christmas. I really do, but I'm going insane this year. No idea why, but everything is pissing me off this year. So, my sister is supposed to be coming out here, but now she's not sure if she can get out of work. This was supposed to be the first time that I'd get to see my 2 nephews in over a year. That pisses me off. I've got 2 new kids to shop for, and I've only met them once, so it's kinda tough to guess what to get them. (Obviously, they're not MY kids....my older brother is living with a girl who has a son and a daughter. They live about 3-4 hours away, so I've only met her twice, and the kids once.)
But I find myself angry enough to scream over the dumbest things. I wanted to go to the bookstore today, but that didn't work out, and I've been really angry about it for about 4-5 hours now. I know it's stupid, and I know I can always go next week or something, but I just can't calm myself down.
Ok, I am a huge Fall Out Boy fan, I love them all, but admittedly, I kinda have a thing for Pete. I live in Arizona, and right now, Pete Wentz is prepairing to dj at a party in Las Vegas, NV. He's only about 3 hours away, and I still can't go see him. Now I'm really mad. That's why my mood is listed as "Bitchy".
I'm sitting here typing, and just thinking to myself...LIFE SUCKS.
But life only sucks for me because I haven't done anything to change it. I know that, and I think that only makes me resent it even more. I am so shy that I can't stand to venture out into the world, and change the things that I hate the most about my own life. I can't even stand making phone calls, because I'm so shy that I can't stand talking to people that I don't know. If it weren't for Livejournal, and the grocery store, I don't think I'd ever interact with anyone other than my family and my best friend.

If I didn't have my best friend, and my music...I think I'd go out of my mind. And believe me, it'd be a short trip. Sometimes I feel like she's the only one who understands what it's like to live in my little world. That's why we've been like sisters since we first met, 9 years ago. I always used to wonder if anyone else went through the things I go through, and not just the bad stuff. I mean the little things that make me the odd child that I've always been.
I hear a cute quote on tv, and write it down. I've got a huge list of quotes from various shows, movies, and celebs. Right now, I'm going through the Q&A section of www.falloutboyrock.com and making a list of Pete Wentz quotes. He's insane...which is why I like him, I think. I know what that's like, to be completely nutso, and have only a few people who can truly handle your special brand of weird.
That's not really that crazy, I suppose, but it's not something that most people do...but she does it too. Actually, I think I got the idea from her. I have some really crazy habits, but I won't even get into explaining those. (too strange for innocent eyes to read...not like that, you perv!) <--- That last comment was directed toward my best friend...I know what she was thinking right there, and she should know better...I'm a good girl, damn you.
Anyway...I think that this has actually helped a bit. I don't feel ready to explode anymore, injure someone, maybe...but not kill, or explode, or jump off of a cliff. (which is good, because I'm afraid of heights!)

Alrighty then, I think it's about time to pack it in for this edition of "meet the weirdo". Stay tuned for the next new episode, where I'll probably say or do something else really stupid. (it's one of those habits that I can't break, no matter what I do) So, cya later.

Cartel Vs. Panic In AP magazine.

More meaningless ranting under the cut.

So, I've been poking around at AP magazine's website, looking for anything Panic! related, and I came across an article about Cartel, where the singer (Will Pugh)was talking about how quickly Panic! gained fame. I missed that issue of AP, (I think it was issue 216, but i'm not 100% on that) but I do have the one where people posted letters to the editor about his comments. (Underoath was on the cover, which i'm not a huge fan of, but it had some Panic! related stuff in there and I love AP) I agreed with most of the responses that came in. I'll let you judge for yourself.

Panic! At The Disco opened for you on their very first tour. Why have they blown up, and not Cartel?
Truthfully, seeing that band blow up from kinds who barely knew how to put their stuff onstage to having a gold record in less than a year kind of feels like a spit in the face. Not from them, obviously; they really, truthfully, had nothing to do with it. So it's like, "Man, I busted my ass and slept in parking lots for two years and they go on a tour with us and then open for Fall Out Boy." Looking at that happen to a band who, for all intents and purposes, don't "deserve it" as much as they didn't put their hours in...
I saw Ryan [Ross]' quote in their AP cover story that said that bands only say you have to pay your dues because they had to pay 'em, and I was like, "C'mon, dude." Every band --New Found Glory toured their ass off; Blink-182 were around for 10 years before they got really, really big. For us, personally, when something like that happens, or if it happnes, I know we'll really be able to appreciate it. I'm not saying they don't; I'm sure they do. They better be kissing the ground their fans walk on.

He got annoyed by Ryan's comment, where he said that bands only say you have to pay your dues because they had to pay them. But that's entirely true. Not to say that a band is better just because they didn't have to go through all of that crap, but here's what I am saying... If you're in a band, and someone comes up and says "hey, I'm gonna give you the chance to make it, right here, right now." Are you really going to say "nah, we haven't been around that long, we need to pay our dues first"? Hell no, you're gonna say "YES!!!! Where do I sign?!" Paying your dues in nice, in theory, but if you can break through without having to go through all of the bullshit, you're gonna do it. So why he'd get upset about Ryan saying it, when it's true, I don't get. I mean, I understand that Cartel has gone through a lot to get where they are, and then Panic! comes in from virtually nowhere, and kicks their asses, fame wise, and that has to be annoying,...but that doesn't mean that every band has to go through hell, walk on hot coals, whatever, just to make it. It just means that Panic! at the Disco managed to get the right music to the right person at the right time. Ryan sent just the right songs to Pete Wentz, just as he was starting his label. If he hadn't done that, who knows where Panic! would be right now.
As I said before, I read some of the letters to the editor regarding that article, and they were all ripping on Will for being so snippy about Panic's success. One person posted the perfect comment, and it made me cheer when I read it.

"I can't name many bands that sound like Panic! at the Disco, but I can name multiple bands that sound like Cartel. They don't stand out at all!"

Some of the people who made comments about it weren't even fans of PatD, they just thought that Will was being a moron when he ripped into them for something that, given the opportunity, he would have done as well. Taken the chance for stardom, and ran with it as hard and fast as he possibly could. That's all these guys did, they started a band, made a few good tunes, and sent them out. When they were given the chance to make a cd, they took the chance. When they were given the chance to tour with Fall Out Boy, they took that one too. And when success found them a lot quicker than it finds most people, they smiled, took that success, and they ran like hell. They are all really talented guys, they put on a great concert, their videos are interesting, but most of all, they totally lucked out. If Cartel had lucked out like PatD did, I bet you would hear Will Pugh saying exactly what Ryan Ross said. Bands only say you have to pay your dues because they had to pay them.

Another useless entry about absolutely nothing. Feel free to read it if you're that bored!

I'm just starting to get the hang of making lj-cuts and and doing some other basic coding (not that a cut really counts as coding, but oh well) So, i'm sitting in my room, watching Steven's Untitled Rock Show, Panic! at the Disco is on right now, and it's a new episode. It actually has Jon instead of Brent. This is very good news to me. Not that I have a crush on Jon, but I love Jon like crazy.

I was never really a fan of Brent. Not that he did anything wrong really (since I don't know the real story on the panic-brent split) but I just didn't love him like I love the other guys. He never really seemed to have fun onstage or in interviews. Ryan, Brendon and Spencer always seem to enjoy themselves. even if they are playing the same damn songs every night. They still enjoy performing, and just hanging out together. Brent never seemed to have the same level of enjoyment, and if he wasn't having fun, he shouldn't have been in the band (for the sake of his sanity. being in a band takes a lot of work, and if he wasn't having fun with it, then it would have probably driven him insane eventually) I'm not as hardcore as some people, saying "I hate Brent" or anything, I just never liked him.

Anyway, I've been uploading, posting and emailing files all day for people in the panic! community. I really enjoy doing that kind of stuff. I figure "the only reason i have any of these live song files is because someone else shared them, so it'd be pretty messed up for me to refuse to share them with other people." besides, i'm the kind of person who loves helping others. it's not always a good quality, because i run myself ragged trying to help people, but oh well. In case you can't tell, there's nothing really happening over here, I'm just bored, and felt like typing for a while. So if the comments start to get even dumber than what I've already said in this post, feel free to leave, or comment and tell me to shut up. I'm used to it!
I know this is kinda random, but I absolutely love Brendon Urie's smile. He's sitting between Jon and Spencer on SURS, and he's not talking much, which is normal for him, but he's just smiling like crazy. I know I sound like a fangirly 12 year old, but I'm 23 years old, I just have a bit of an obsessive personality. I can't help it, when I love something, I go all out. Again, not always a good quality, but I can't seem to change it.

I've been debating doing this for some time now, but I've decided that i'll go ahead and share with all of the other fans who have so kindly shared their pics with me. Nothing special going on over here right now. I just had a random urge to post something. I've been waiting for about 3 weeks now for my Panic! at the Disco box set to come. I realize that it was only released a few days ago, but 3 weeks ago is when I bought it, so yeah. It's in Ohio somewhere right now, at least according to amazon. So I'm sitting in my room, bored off my ass, waiting. For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm not a very patient person (mental patient, maybe....but nevermind that)So this waiting is driving me nutso. I keep making icons to kill time, but they're all of Panic! so maybe that's not really helping. As you can all see (I say "all" as if anyone is actually reading this, and I know no one is!) I'm a pretty boring girl. Kinda crazy, in a strange, silly, straight jacket kind of way. But mostly just kinda quiet and shy. That's the main reason I have no life. That, and the fact that most people think that I'm certifiable. They're right, but that's not really the point, now is it? Oh well, I enjoy living in my own little world. It's nice here, and everyone knows me pretty well. And what fun would life be if you couldn't laugh at it?
